Things I'm Learning From ICLW

I've learned a few things through ICLW as I've just finished my 10th comment...

1. I hate those freaking captcha thingies. I'm going to remove mine if I have one...
2. I REALLY hate the captcha thingys that pop up after you hit submit. I've usually already Xed out of the tab when I notice they pop up.
3. Someone like me getting pregnant one one round of Clomid is not considered infertile. That's okay. I totally get that. I hate being thrown into a category with 2 girls from work that have done IVF. It's not far. I think my big mission here in the blog world is my two babies that I have lost. my 15 months childless while trying were very rough, and the years and years before that when I ached for a child but wasn't trying yet sucked too, but I know my journey is nothing compared to a 10 year + journey, and I hope people know that I know compare them.
4. Pregnancy blogs have a LOT less comments...
5. I have no clue what the difference between IVF is, 5 day transfers, FET, etc. My head just swims when I try to read the difference. Is there an ART site for dummies that speaks English?!

Tomorrow is my Blogoversary! I am going to try to get started on that post now... Yeah right... ;)

15 people that love me told me so:

Hi Katie - thanks for visiting my blog and for the sweet comment. The terminology has been an interesting learning experience for me - I've spent a lot of time on wikipedia. On one board, I am afraid to post since I am not fluent in the language yet LOL

Hi Katie! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. =)

You know, this year would mark *my* 20th violin-playing year as well. What are we gonna do with ourselves? Wanna start an IF orchestra? ;-)

I wish you tons of luck with your rapidly growing little bebe! However, I was very sad to learn that you lost one of your twins. I'm so sorry. *hugs*

If you ever need any IF lingo translation, feel free to ask me! I haven't even started the process yet, but I'm totally fluent in IFnese. =)

Here's a short IVF dictionary for you.

3 day transfer: when they put back embryos 3 days after they took your eggs

5 day transfer: when they put back embryos 5 days after they took your eggs

FET: frozen embryo transfer; when they freeze embryos and transfer them at a later date

Thanks for stopping by my blog :)

I also agree that some of the terminology can be a bit confusing, especially when it's a treatment that you haven't done (we never did IVF either so those are a bit harder for me to read/comprehend sometimes). I also wanted to say that you should never diminish your "IF status" just because you may not have been on the 'road' as long or it didn't take as long to conceive. Everyone's IF is different & different choices get made, but I don't think that anyone would think that losing two babies was an "easier" IF struggle than someone else's.

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy! :)

I hate those captcha thingies too! Half the time I can't read what they say!

I have enjoyed reading your blog and I am looking forward to hearing more about your journey with your beautiful baby!

1. and 2. Me too!
3. I consider you infertile. Everyone's path is different, but to me, if you fit the official definition (TTC for over 1 year) you're in.
4. Uh oh- I hope that doesn't happen to me!
5. Stirrup Queen's site has a ton of info on the left side bar if you want more info.
Happy Blog-o-versary 1 day early!

thanks for stopping by my blog. everyone has their own infertility story and i definitely think that what you have gone through counts. we were originally pregnant with twins as well, two heartbeats at six weeks, but then just one at eight weeks, i'm just hoping baby "a" sticks around! good luck with your pregnancy!

Amen sister, I hate captcha too!

For the record, I don't think you are any less infertile than anyone else just because you got a BFP the first time on clomid. Now, I may find you a little lucky and be jealous as hell but I don't think your troubles are any less than anyone elses. You tried for a long time and you lost two little ones. Your just as sad as the rest of us, lol! :)

I agree with you about those stupid windows - I hate when I think I've posted and it turns out I didn't . . . and then you have to start all over again because you've already moved on!! Thank you so much for visiting my blog and reading it.

I think we all have different journeys - I had a tough time getting pregnant, but I never experienced any loss on that journey. It doesn't mean that we both don't carry a few scars from our journey. - Tkeys
